Timothy E. Peterson

Senior Research Scientist

Mr. Peterson received his Master’s degree in Free Radical Biology from the University of Iowa in 1989. His research focus has been free radical biology of the cardiovascular system, studying nitric oxide synthesis and its regulation by oxygen radicals. These studies lead to the discovery that oxygen radicals regulate not only endocytosis and exocytosis of membrane vesicles, called exosomes, but also regulates the cargo within exosomes. Mr. Peterson has published over 60 peer-reviewed research articles and two patents during his research studies at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, University of Washington in Seattle, WA, and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He joined Rion in 2018.
